The Ugly Diner Gulf Shores is open for breakfast and lunch! They serve comfort food done right with a casual fun atmosphere.

Menu Highlights - It is hard to pick just a few highlights we enjoyed everything we have tried.

Shrimp and Grits - Gulf Shrimp, Bacon, Tomatoes, Chives, specialty sauce with creamy gouda grits.

Biscuits and Gravy - How can you go wrong with 2 biscuits smothered in house-made gravy?

Country Fried Steak and Eggs - 2 eggs, country fried steak, home fries, and toast.

Mr. Jim's Peach Cobbler French Toast - Hot French Toast with peach sauce, cobbler crumbs and whipped cream.

Pork Chop Breakfast - 2 eggs, pork chop, home fries, and toast.

They have so many epic omelet options including, cheese omelette, Denver omelet, Ham and Cheese, Shrimp and Crab omelet, or veggie.

Sunliner Diner

Retro Sunliner Diner in the heart of Gulf Shores offers epic dining in a great fun atmosphere.

One thing to know is that this breakfast/brunch spot is not the fastest during the summer. If you are visiting during the slower times of year, the service is amazing. The restaurant is super popular in the summer, so it slows down a bit.

Thankfully the atmosphere is comfortable and fun.

Menu Highlights - Classic diner food we all love. Don't miss the corned beef hash, sandwiches, French toast, Belgian waffles, Pancakes, Country fried steak, Hash browns, Avocado toast, omelets, meatloaf,  and Fried Chicken!

Tacky Jacks Gulf Shores

We love the fun casual atmosphere of Tacky Jacks in Gulf Shores. You can't help but smile at the vibrant colored table all over the place.

Enjoy a great view and check out all of the brightly colored tape decorations.

Menu Highlights

Farmers Omelet - Part of the State of Alabama lists as one of the "100 dishes to eat in Alabama before you die". The Farmers Omelet comes with potatoes, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, sausage, ham, plus American and Cheddar Cheese inside and out. Served with a choice of bread.

Build your own omelet.

Pork Chop & Egg Platter - two eggs your way, grits, a choice of bread and a 4 ounce center cut Smithfield pork chop.

Shrimp and Cheese Grits

Breakfast Sandwiches - choice of buttermilk biscuit or Texas toast, choice of link sausage, sausage patty, bacon, or ham.

They have great breakfast cocktails including, mimosa, madras, Mexican coffee, Irish Coffee, and Whiskey Willies Bloody Mary.

Kitty's Kafe

I can't tell you how many times we have been told that Kitty's Kafe is the best breakfast restaurant in Gulf Shores by local residents.

This local breakfast spot serves classic southern breakfast food with a fun atmosphere. The restaurant feels like a large family meal with everyone laughing and having a great time.

Breakfast Burrito - Scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese, with grits or potato

Eggs Benedict with Canadian Bacon, Crab Cake, or Fried Green Tomato

Southern Benedict - Biscuit, sausage, over medium egg, and gravy.

Garden Omelet - Cheese, pepper, onion, mushroom and tomatoes, served with grits or potato, toast or biscuit.

If you are looking for sweets to start the day then you will love Cafe Beignet. There are locations in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

Menu Highlights - Hot fresh beignets covered in powdered sugar. Add chocolate drizzle and a vanilla pudding filling to take your beignets to the next level.

Gulf Shores Diner offers breakfast and lunch daily with delicious specials. This local favorite has comfortable seating and is casual with great customer service.

Chicken and Waffles - 2 crispy chicken strips with a golden waffle

Monte Cristo - French toast layered with ham, turkey, and melted white Swiss cheese and; then dusted with powdered sugar; served with hash browns.

Omelets - Cheese, one meat, garden, Spinach hollandaise, Greek, country, chicken fajita, meat lover, western, Philly steak, corned beef hash

Foam Coffee

Foam Coffee Shop is located in the heart of Gulf Shores. They offer a hipster vibe with epic iced coffee and wellness lattes.

Enjoy the outdoor seating that includes a fun swing for the perfect Instagram photo. Their iced chai is one of my favorites in town.

Menu Highlights -

Drinks - Café au Lait, Cortado, Cappuccino, Cuban Latte, Chai Tea (so good),

Wellness Lattes include Matcha Latte, Turmeric Latte, Beetroot latte, Chagaccino, and loose-leaf tea.

Avocado Toast - Fresh avocado, everything bagel seasoning, and lemon wedge.

Peanut Butter Toast - Peanut butter, sliced banana, coconut flakes, and honey.

Nutella Toast - Nutella, sliced strawberries, and powdered sugar.

Can't decide on 1 toast you can get a toast flight with three flavors.

They also offer seasonal Menus and toast flavors.

High Tide Daiquiri Bar 

While High Tide Daiquiri and Mimosas is best known for their cocktail flights they also offer a great breakfast menu.

Plus! You can take one of their flamingo, yellow ducky, or swan paddleboats out for a fun cruise.

Menu Highlights - High Tide Daiquiris and Mimosas offers bagels, toast, breakfast boards, muffins, croissants, and donut holes.

Breakfast board can be made for 2, 4, or 6 people with toast, bagels, spreads and fresh fruit.

The pull into the restaurant is before you reach it. We ended up driving past it and having to turn around. Trust your GPS when it tells you to turn right into the parking area.

Woodside Restaurant at Gulf State Park

Enjoy lawn games, great food, a fun atmosphere all in the heart of Gulf State Park. They have pet friendly outdoor seating perfect for relaxing with your furry friends.

Menu Highlights

Armadillo Trail Biscuits and Gravy - two scrambled farm fresh eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, cheddar cheese, served with hashbrowns or grits.

Beach Mouse Trail Breakfast Sandwich - fried eggs, shaved ham, grilled tomato, cheddar cheese, with hashbrowns or grits.

Catman Hotcakes - sausage or bacon, fresh picked berries, warm maple syrup.

Eagle Loop English Muffin Sandwich - Fried eggs, Conecuh Sausage, Smoked Gouda pimento cheese, local seasonal jam, hashbrown or grits.

Lickin Good Donuts

Lickin Good donuts is a must visit Gulf Shores doughnut shop! Don't be surprised if you find a line out the door especially on weekend mornings.

Their donuts are beyond delicious! They also have biscuit sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, and Kolaches with Conecuh Sausage.

Menu Highlights - Cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, fancy and regular doughnuts, and kolaches.

Happy Pappy's Coffee House

Happy Pappy's is one of our favorite Gulf Shores coffee shops! They have great coffee drinks, a casual atmosphere, and authentic Greek pastries.

This is a coffee shop that you can easily relax in with a great book or catch up with friends.

Menu Highlights - Authentic Greek pastries, delicious coffee espresso drinks, tea, and more.

Tyroptia - Greek cheese pie made with phyllo dough and feta cheese.

Avocado Toast - Fresh avocado on Organic Good seed toast with freshly squeezed lemon juice and toasted sesame seeds.

Coffee drinks include - Classic Espresso, cappuccino, latte, "skinny" latte, Café Au Lait, Cold brew, mocha, micro brewed tea, Chai latte, and more.

Specialty desserts can include Tiramisu, Cannoli, New York Cheesecake, Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake, Cookies, and more.

Foodcraft at The Lodge at Gulf State Park

Enjoy epic views of the Gulf from Foodcraft. They offer an amazing breakfast and brunch menu, great cocktails, regional craft beers, and a lovely wine list.

Foodcraft is our favorite restaurant to bring people to when they visit. There is something for everyone on the buffet and it all tastes amazing!

The organic fruit is unbelievable. Truly some of the best fruit I have enjoyed since we moved to Gulf Shores.

Make sure to say high to the sweet Jamaican woman who works the omelet station. She is so sweet and friendly.

Lodge breakfast buffet - fresh seasonal fruits, oatmeal, Southern grits, Applewood bacon, buttermilk biscuits, peppered gravy, country sausage, breakfast potatoes. Along with made to order eggs and omelets, fresh breads and pastries served with local jams and preserves.

Banana Bread French Toast - Sliced bananas, pecans, bourbon-maple syrup, and bacon.

Crab Cake Benedict - petite crab cakes, sauteed spinach, poach eggs, English muffin, Cajun citrus tarragon sauce, with a breakfast side.

Island Pancake House

If you are looking for a casual breakfast restaurant in Gulf Shores, Al, check out the Island Pancake House.

While the menu is not huge they offer the breakfast comfort food we all love to start the day. The Island Pancake House staff was friendly and really helpful.

Menu Highlights - Build your own pancakes and waffles, build your own omelets, shrimp & fried green tomatoes, and more.

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes - Cream cheese drizzle over 3 fluffy cinnamon roll pancakes.

Island crabcake breakfast - 2 large crabcakes with a side of house made remoulade, 2 farm fresh eggs, hashbrowns or grits.
