We love exploring the Alabama's Gulf Coast. Living in Gulf Shores we are always looking for great lodging options to share with everyone who visits.

The Island House Hotel is great for families with kids, business travelers, couples, or anyone looking to relax close to the beach. We enjoyed a staycation vacation and it was fantastic.

We soaked up the beach view while enjoying being a few minutes' drive from the house. It was the perfect getaway to relax and lounge around without stressing over laundry and our never ending to-do list.

Located right on the Gulf you can enjoy easy access to the outdoor pool, white sand beaches, and top attractions in the area including Gulf State Park, The Wharf, and the Flora-Bama.

The lobby has gorgeous views of the Gulf with comfortable chairs perfect for relaxing inside if you need a break from the hot Alabama Gulf Coast sun.

The Penthouse suites include a mini refrigerator, microwave, a seating area with sofa sleeper, LCD tv, work desk with wifi access, and can sleep 5 people.

We stayed in a King Deluxe Corner room and it was fantastic. Tons of space to move around during our stay.

The balcony was our favorite part with gorgeous views of the Gulf. It was so good I set an alarm not to miss sunrise.

We found the room to be really comfortable and loved how quiet it was at night. We were able to enjoy a great nights sleep and relax during our stay.

Outdoor Pool

The outdoor pool has gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico. There is a fantastic sun terrace with lounge chairs perfect for relaxing near the beach.

Beachside Bistro Restaurant and Bar

 There is an onsite restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with serving Starbucks coffee.

 They have sandwiches, pizzza, salads, wraps, and breakfast items available.

Exercise Room/Gym

 The fitness center features treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights. It is vailable for guest 24-hours a day.

Meeting Facilities

The hotel offers 4,845 of event space with 5 meeting rooms. The onsite staff is available to help with catering, decorations, and a/v assistance. The island ballroom can host up to 400 people.

Easy Beach Access

The Island House has fantastic easy access to the white sand beaches of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

There are two walkways that lead out to the sand making it easy to access. Perdido Beach Service is available during the busy season. They have beach chair rentals with umbrellas on the beach ready for you.

One of the amenities I love at the Island House Hotel is their beach read library. Next to the main elevator in the lobby there are two bookshelves with fantastic books available.

You can enjoy the books while out on the beach, sitting by the pool, or relaxing in your room. If you don't finish the book you don't have to stress. The hotel has a program that you can drop off a $5 donation at the front desk and take the book with you.

The $5 donation goes towards the hotels Children's Christmas Project. They purchase gifts for kids at Christmas and deliver them to Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center.

I was so excited to see one of my travel writer friends books highlight. It was so fun seeing someone I know on the shelf in the hotel.

Some of our favorite restaurants are located right across the street from The Island House Hotel in Orange Beach. The hotel is in a great convenient location for exploring Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

Daisy's Donuts - Enjoy doughnuts, iced coffees, and boba tea.

Shrimp Basket - Great seafood dishes, wings, and one of my favorite salads in town.

Sweet Cone Alabama - The brownie sundae is so good! They also have a big candy selection and tons of ice cream options.

Zeke's Restaurant - Yum! Zeke's is one of the best restaurants in Orange Beach. So good!

Just down the street from the hotel you will find:

The Gulf - Enjoy an epic lunch and dinner right on the water. Perfect restaurant for fun photos.

Cobalt - This local favorite offers a great views. We have seen a ton of dolphins while eating outside.
