We did the hard job of visiting every doughnut shop we could find in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to bring you this fun list.
Don't worry; we dove head first into the job of finding the best cake donuts, glazed doughnuts, specialty donuts, and beignets on the Gulf Coast.
Visitors and locals will love these great donut bakeries that serve the best selection of sweet treats to start the day.
All of these doughnut shops in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach offer takeout and some of them have great indoor or outdoor seating to relax onsite.
The best donut shop is one that has the best quality ingredients, flavorful icings, and is easy to reach. You can't go wrong with fresh made donuts to start the day!
I am so thankful for the bakers who get up super early in the morning to make sure we have amazing traditional yeast doughnuts, cake donuts, and so much more!

Lickin Good Donuts - Gulf Shores
We suggest arriving EARLY in the morning to get fresh doughnuts from Lickin Good Donuts Gulf Shores. It is not uncommon to see a line out the door especially on weekend mornings.
They serve a variety of donuts including bacon maple bars, apple fritters, chocolate glazed donuts, fancy covered doughnuts, cake donuts (Blueberry, sour cream, chocolate covered, cinnamon, sugar, or plain) and more.
Filled doughnuts include - lemon, apple, raspberry, chocolate, blueberry, Éclair, Bavarian cream, cream cheese éclair.
Please try a cinnamon twist or two....They are beyond delicious.
They also have wide variety of kolaches available during our last visit. You can try a Boudin kolache, regular kolache with Conecuh, smoke cheddar sausage kolache, jalapeno cheddar sausage and more!
If you want to grab a bit more substance for breakfast make sure to try a biscuit or croissant breakfast sandwiches with sausage or bacon, egg and cheese.
I highly suggest buying extra doughnuts so you have them for the next day. We are always amazing at how great Lickin Good Donuts taste the next day.

City Donut - Orange Beach
City Donut's Menu includes fresh made-from-scratch donuts, apple fritters, and the most amazing caramel apple fritter that I need you to try!
They also have donut sliders! Yes you read that right! Imagine an ice cream and donut sandwich served warm with epic toppings.
Donut slider options include but are not limited to.....
The Bigfoot - Vanilla ice cream with Snickers Bar, Bigfoot's trail mix, cookie topping, and a chocolate drizzle. OH MY!
Cookie Dough Crunch - Cookie dough ice cream, cookie topping, and a chocolate drizzle.
Unicorn Buns - Birthday Cake Ice Cream with marshmallow, fruity pebbles, and sprinkles.
Bama Slama - Sea salt caramel ice cream, cinnamon toast crunch, and a caramel drizzle.
One really great thing about City Donut is they are open late! You can grab doughnuts after an epic day at the beach. Plus they have ice cream including banana splits, sundaes, and shakes!
Considered Orange Beach's premiere stop for doughnuts! We love this local business. Truly some of the best donuts Orange Beach has!

Pre-Orders - If you want to make sure you can pick up a specific type or number of donuts you can set up a pre-order by calling City Donuts and placing your order ahead of time. You will need to pre-pay for the order.
Café Beignet - Gulf Shores and Orange Beach
Cafe Beignet has locations in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach! They have soft fluffy beignets covered in powdered sugar that will make your taste buds so dang happy.
Regular orders include 3 or 12 beignets. You can get them filled with vanilla pudding with chocolate syrup topping if you like.
They also have muffins (Blueberry, double chocolate, lemon, cranberry, banana nut, apple, cinnamon) and coffee cake.
They have coffee, café au lait, iced coffee, French Vanilla cappuccino, bottle water, and coke products.
Grab lots of napkins and maybe skip wearing a dark shirt so it doesn't show off all of the epic powdered sugar you enjoyed.

Pete's Ice Cream and Donuts - Orange Beach
Don't miss the fresh doughnuts every morning. Pete's Donuts has a different cake doughnut and filled doughnut daily which feels like the perfect reason to visit multiple times during your visit to the Gulf Coast of Alabama.
Plus they have in house made ice cream and waffles cones in the most amazing flavors! We had key lime pie ice cream with graham cracker chunks in it during our last visit and it was beyond delicious.
Their full ice cream menu is what dessert dreams are made of. You can get ice cream treats along with a glazed donut.

Daisy's Donuts - Orange Beach
This newly opened Doughnut Shop in Orange Beach offers donuts with fun toppings like Fruit Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Fun sprinkles, and more.
The majority of the donuts are yeast doughnuts with icing and toppings.
They have a fun menu of specialty coffee drinks including Reese's Peanut Butter Cold Brew, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cold Brew, Salted Caramel Cold Brew, Classic Vanilla Iced Coffee, Iced Mocha Cold Brew, and of course hot coffee.
They also have boba tea and fruit tea that looks amazing.

Kayden's does not have donuts. They have a sign that says donuts but we have never seen them serve them.

Sassy Bass Crazy Donuts - Closed
Unfortunately Sassy Bass Crazy Donuts has closed. You can still enjoy Sassy Bass Amazin Grill, Sassy Bass Island Grill, Sassy Bass Cookout Tiki Bar, and Sassy Pizza just to name a few of their great restaurants.
We all miss the wildest donut creations you could get at Sassy Bass Crazy Donuts. I will let you know if a new one every pops up in Gulf Shore or Orange Beach.
