Did you know that the Gulf Shores Yard Milkshake Bar was the first location for this nationwide ice cream shop?

The husband-and-wife team of Logan and Chelsea Green created the Yard Milkshake Bar. They spent years working for their parents and learning from the family's entrepreneurs before starting their own shop.

They debuted on Shark Tank in 2019 when they made a deal with Mark Cuban, and their popularity has grown exponentially since then. Mark Cuban invested $400,000 for 22% equity, helping The Yard expand from one Gulf Shores location to a national franchise

I love knowing their home town of Gulf Shores helped them get their start back in 2017.

What Makes The Yard Milkshake Bar Special

Make sure to visit often to see the seasonal and monthly specialty shakes that are themed to the time of year.

This is a dessert place you can go to many times and never try the same thing. There are so many ice cream flavors that your sweet tooth will rejoice.

Don't get me started on the yummy cookie doughs that are way to close every time I stop by the Gulf Shores Target while running errands.

The jars of cookie dough are the perfect treat when you just need a spoonful of yummy goodness.

One really fun thing about The Yard Milkshake Bar is you get to take the glass home with you. There is a washing station in the ice cream shop so you can get it clean before heading to the car.

We suggest using one of the baggies available just to make sure any milkshake remnants do not spread throughout your car.

I just learned that Blue Bell Ice Cream makes two flavors of ice cream just for The Yard...White Chocolate Marshmallow and Fudgy Brownie Sundae.

Gulf Shores Exclusive Milkshake Flavor

This Beach is Bananas (available in a jar milkshake or sundae) - Triple chocolate and white chocolate marshmallow ice cream with a marshmallow drizzle served in a Nutella iced jar rolled in Mini Nilla Wafers. Topped with a banana, scoop of banana pudding cookie dough, whipped cream, Nilla Wafer crumbs, and mini marshmallows.

Cookie Dough Delicious - Cookie Dough Ice Cream with chocolate drizzle in a chocolate iced jar rolled in chocolate chips, topped with a scoop of chocolate chip edible cookie dough, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle.

The Unicorn - Cotton candy ice cream with purple marshmallow drizzle, marshmallow cream dipped jar rim covered with rainbow sprinkles. Topped with a sugar cone unicorn horn, rainbow whipped cream, a sour rainbow, cotton candy clouds, and more sprinkles.

Old School Banana Split - Strawberry and banana pudding ice cream with chocolate and strawberry drizzle in a chocolate iced jar rolled in peanuts. Topped with a banana, whipped cream, strawberry topping, peanuts, chocolate drizzle, and of a course a cherry on top.

The Mermaid - Blue monster and cake batter ice cream with pink marshmallow cream drizzle in a teal marshmallow cream dipped jar rolled in mermaid candy jewels, topped with a white chocolate mermaid tail, whipped cream, a rock candy stick, and mermaid candy jewels.

Kids Menu - The entire menu is a kids dream! They do have smaller sundaes if you are worried about all of the sweetness.

Gluten-Free Ice Cream and Milkshake Options

They have a complete list of gluten-free options available at the counter. Some of the ice cream flavors that are listed as gluten-free include cinnamon sugar, coconut, coffee, cotton candy, mango, mint chocolate chip, orange swirl, rainbow sherbet, sea salt caramel, strawberry ice cream, and more!

No Milk - Vegan chocolate soft serve with chocolate drizzle in a vanilla iced jar rolled in crushed vegan chocolate chip cookies, topped with a chocolate chip cookie, vegan whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle.

Oatmeal Cream Pie - Vegan vanilla soft serve in a vanilla iced jar rolled in cinnamon sugar, topped with an oatmeal raisin cream pie, vegan whipped cream, and cinnamon sugar on top. THIS IS SO GOOD!

Vegetarian - I did not have any problems finding a ton of options as a vegetarian.

The milkshakes are not regular milkshakes you get at a fast food restaurant. These are ice cream & Frozen treat works of art.

The Yard has seasonal specials for every month along with holiday specials. They are a fantastic opportunity to try new flavors.

The Yard has edible cookie dough available in a pint jar or in a cookie dough pop.

Please confirm with the restaurant to ensure that hours have not changed.

Accessibility - There is plenty of space within the restaurant to move around. The outdoor tables have an opening on one side that a wheelchair could be at.

Plus Size Seating - There are multiple indoor seating options that were really comfortable. From bench seats to chairs without arms.

The outdoor seating is mainly picnic table type seating so it is really up to you if you are comfortable sitting at this type of table.

Dress Code/Suggestions - Casual

Pets - Pets are now allowed inside the restaurant.

Parking  - There is a large parking area next to The Yard.
