Snug Home - Coming February 2026
Snug Home is opening a once a month shopping experience in Foley off the Beach Express.
They will have designer furniture, art, and home decor that is curated to make your house feel like a home. Inventory will change every month, so there is always something new to find. The products can be brought home the same day of the sale.

City of Foley - Major Projects
The City of Foley continues to work on major projects to address the growth in the area. Major projects include work on the new Public Works Campus on North Poplar Street which is scheduled to be completed Spring 2026, refurbish the old Public Works Campus to create a new home for the Parks and Recreation Department.
The City of Foley is expanding fire protection with plans for a new fire station located in the Northeast area of the city, it will be built on East Fern Avenue between Alabama Hwy 59 and the Foley Beach Express.
Work has been completed on major improvements at the intersection of Baldwin County 12 and Hwy 59 in Foley. The improvements were designed to enhance traffic flow, safety, and long-term durability.
The Foley Facade Improvement Incentive Grant Program provides funding to enhance the exterior appearance of buildings and businesses within Foley's Local and National Historic Districts and the Foley Main Street District. The Foley City Council recently approved updates to the program to clarify eligible areas and simplify the application and reimbursement process.
Streetscape improvements are underway on South Chicago Street as the City of Foley prepares for the opening of its new library and community center in 2026.
A new safe room for first responders is on track to be ready by the 2027 hurricane season. Plans call for the facility to be approximately 10,000 square feet with space for up to 200 people.
The building will be constructed to withstand winds of up to 200 miles per hour and will be equipped with a 400-kilowatt generator capable of operating on either natural gas or diesel fuel. The safe room will also include kitchen facilities and accommodations needed to house emergency personnel during hurricanes or other major disasters.
The Foley City Council has approved the purchase of more than two acres on East Violet Avenue, north of Heritage Park. The parcel, known as the Gatlin Property, is located just east of the Wilbourne Antique Rose Trail.
Foley's municipal airport has a new name honoring one of the city's long-time public servants. The Foley City Council has approved renaming the facility Holk Field at Foley Municipal Airport in recognition of former Mayor Arthur Holk.

Yawdie is bringing the authentic taste of Jamaica to Foley! They will be open weekdays from 7 am to 2 am.
The menu includes Jerk chicken egg rolls, jerk pork and chicken tacos or wraps, jerk pork or chicken with 2 sides, Oxtails, Fried chicken, curry goat, steamed fish, roast fish, escovitch fish, Jamaican Beef patties, and great sides.

Winn-Dixie in Foley is closing on December 31st, 2025.

John Smith Subs is opening where Sushi.com was at the front of OWA near the entrance to Tropic Falls.

The City of Foley broke ground on a new 40,000-square foot library. The new library will double the size of the current library and include a dedicated children's area, activity room for storytime, computer area, a multipurpose room for meetings and events, a computer lab, study rooms, and more.
Black Cat Vegan Bakery - New Location now open
Black Cat Vegan Bakery will be moving to a new location. They will close the 209 S Alston Street location at the end of February. Their last day at the current location will be Febuary 23rd.
The new location is close by with the addition of indoor seating!!!

The Galley on the River opened December 26th! It looks like they have a great menu with salads, sandwiches, burgers, and specialty pizzas

Opening on November 26, 2024! A great destination for bridal and speical event attire in Foley. They will carry a range of men's and women's formal wear including wedding gowns, tuxedos, and special occasion dresses.

Goodwill breaks ground on a new facility - opening Sept 23
Goodwill broke ground on the largest Goodwill Facility in the area. It is building a new 50,000-square-foot facility just off of South McKenzie Street.
South Baldwin Regional Medical Center is now Baldwin Health.
South Baldwin Regional Medical Center announced its new name, Baldwin Health.
They have expanded their capacity with an additional 185,000-square-foot facility, which will open later this month.

Black Cat Vegan Bakery - Moving
Black Cat Vegan Bakery is opening in Foley, offering delicious vegan pastries! We have tried many of her pastries at Bagel Boy and loved them.
My husband often talks about their oatmeal cream pies and can't wait to get one again. Black Cat Vegan Bakery is opening in front of Cheeseburger Randy's.

Mi Pueblito Cocina Mexican Restaurant
New Mexican restaurant in Foley! Mi Pueblito Cocina Mexicana is open on McKenzie St. They offer Mole Veracruzano, Rajas en crema con Pollo, Mexican penne alfredo, pollito crazy grilled chicken, quesadilla meal, burritos, ceviche, and so much more.
They have authentic street tacos on homemade tortillas, all-day breakfast, and fajitas, and those are just some of the menu items.

Foley Rose Trail wins State Main Street Award
The City of Foley was honored with the Planning and Public Space Award of Excellence by Main Street, Alabama.
The award recognizes the Wilbourne Antique Rose Trail that follows the track of the former L&N Railroad line.
The walking path is filled with native plants, flowers, and antique roses.
Cooper Twins Consignment - Now Open
Cooper Twins Consignment announced they are opening a 2nd location in Downtown Foley.

Cobblestone Inn - Now Open
A new Cobblestone Inn is being built on the corner of Miflin Road (County Rd 20) and Konair Way. The hotel will have 73 rooms.
The Cobblestone Hotel website says the hotel will be dog-friendly ($25 per dog per night). It also has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, high-speed internet, guest laundry, complimentary breakfast, and other amenities.

New Pickleball Courts - Under Construction
New pickleball courts are being built behind the Coastal Alabama Farmers's and Fishermen's Market off of Miflin Rd.
There will be nine new pickleball courts when the project is complete. We have also seen that there may be 10 sand volleyball courts built.
Beach Express Publix - Now open
If you are driving down the Beach Express across from Tropic Falls at OWA you will see the construction of the brand-new Publix.
This will be a great new grocery store for locals and visitors grabbing groceries before crossing the bridge into Orange Beach.
Tractor Supply Foley - Now Open
Driving down Highway 59 you will see new construction for a Tractor Supply Store in front of Old Time Pottery.
Grand Riviera RV Park
Grand Riviera RV Park has been built near the Foley Farmers' and Fishermen's Market.
Close to OWA, with easy access to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, the RV park offers large concrete pads, wide roads, full hookups, three pools, shower and restroom facilities, laundry facilities, pickleball courts, a soccer field, playground, WiFi, a fenced dog play area, and more amenities.

New restrooms in Heritage Park
New restrooms are being built in Heritage Park. They will be larger, accessible, and in keeping with the park's other structures.
It is located next to the Foley Railroad Museum.
Foley Entertainment District - Open
The Foley City Council has approved an ordinance to establish an entertainment district in downtown Foley, west of Highway 59.
The entertainment district allows visitors to leave a bar or restaurant with an alcoholic beverage between 11 am and 11 pm. Any beverages would have to be in a 16-ounce plastic cup with the name of the business on it.
1941 N3N Biplane exhibit coming to the Foley Railroad Museum
The City of Foley has acquired a 1941 N3N Biplace from World War II. The city plans to celebrate its designation as an American World War II Heritage City.
Foley is the only community in Alabama that the National Park Service has named an American World War II Heritage City for the city's part in the war.

Cheeseburger Randy's is one of the most anticipated new restaurants opening in Foley. Their social media feed has been teasing us for a few months with epic burger creations.

Graham Creek Nature Preserve - Rentable Kayaks
Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley announced on FB that they now have rentable kayaks. To rent kayaks, you must download an app and scan the QR code on the kayak locker.
You can rent the kayaks using your phone and pick up a paddle and lifejacket for your rental. This is a great way to get out on the water.
The kayak rentals are $20 for a 2-hour rental.

Vallarta Mexican Restuarant
Vallarta Mexican Restaurant is under new management and has a new menu! The restaurant was newly renovated.
