Yawdie A Taste of Home is a fantastic Jamaican restaurant in Foley, Alabama! They have amazing jerk chicken, jerk pork, oxtail, and so many more dishes you rarely find on the Alabama Gulf Coast.

Yawdie
We were so impressed with the food at Yawdie! Every bite was filled with flavor without being overpowering with spice or heat. It is perfectly balanced to show off the character of the dish while still packing in flavor.
I tried Porridge and Festival Bread as part of my 50 before 50 new things on the Gulf Coast adventure. They were both so good. I wasn't sure what to expect from the porridge but it was smooth and had great flavor.
My husband would go back any day for the jerk pork or jerk chicken. We can't wait to go back and try the fried chicken and the new ice cream.

Every dish at Yawdie is cooked over an open coal fire using original Jamaican spices and seasonings, the way the food is meant to be made. Owner Duane "Chozenn" Besentie brought the concept to Foley after nearly two years of planning, wanting to introduce the Gulf Coast to authentic Jamaican flavors and culinary culture.
They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with fun specials.
