Foley, Alabama is a great stop on the way to the Gulf Coast of Alabama. If you are driving on Highway 59 to Gulf Shores or Orange Beach you will pass right through Foley.
Locals and visitors can enjoy amazing entertainment, Downtown Foley, walking Heritage Park, and so much more!
We live in the Gulf Shores area and love spending time in Foley. We find ourselves heading to Foley for lunch and fun often.
Foley Railroad Museum & Model Train Exhibit
Enjoy a self-guided tour of the Foley Railroad Museum and Model Train Museum! I will warn you that the Model Train Museum is amazing and you may not want to leave it.
I thought I would be there long enough to check out the displays and then wander through the rest of the park. I was wrong! I spent 45+ minutes sitting watching the model trains move around the display.
It was awe inspiring and I couldn't stop watching.
They offer free train rides for kids and parent's around Foley's Heritage Park on the Charles Ebert Express II. Catch the train in front of the historic depot
n 1905, the construction of the first railroad depot commenced when the Bay Minette-Fort Morgan Railway was established. The town's namesake, Mr. John B. Foley, contributed his own funds to extend the rail line from Bay Minette to Foley.
Upon the completion of this extension in 1907, it became known as the L & N Railroad. Unfortunately, the initial station was destroyed by fire, leading to the construction of a second depot in 1909, which remains standing to this day.

Glenlakes Golf Club features 27 holes of unforgettable golf. The Dunes-Vista course is an 18 hole links style course.
