Sanibel and Captiva Islands are home to some of the best breakfast restaurants on Florida's Gulf Coast. From scratch-made eggs Benedict and fossilized shell tabletops to fresh smoothies and Gulf-view brunches, these islands know how to start a morning right.
This guide covers breakfast spots on both islands so you can spend less time searching and more time on the beach.

📍Tours
Sanibel and Captiva Islands have some of the best breakfast restaurants on Florida's Gulf Coast, and we have been working our way through all of them for years.
Whether you are looking for a hearty plate of eggs Benedict after a morning of shelling, a casual bagel before heading to Ding Darling, or a fresh smoothie and coffee to kick off a beach day, there is something for every kind of morning person on these two islands.
These are the spots we keep coming back to, and a few newer ones that have earned their place on the list since the islands started rebuilding after Hurricane Ian.
One thing worth knowing before you go: Sanibel and Captiva are still recovering, and some of these restaurants are newer than you might expect. A few of our longtime favorites are still working their way back. We will keep this list updated as things change, but always check hours directly before you visit since they can shift with the season.
