Sanibel Sprout

The Sanibel Sprout started as a food truck on Sanibel Island and quickly built a following for its fresh, plant-forward menu and one of the best coffee bars on the island.

The storefront is now open at 2407 Periwinkle Way in the Islander Center, giving it a proper home with indoor and outdoor seating and a full menu of acai bowls, toasts, smoothies, fresh juice, and coffee drinks.

For anyone on Sanibel or Captiva Island looking for a lighter, healthier option that goes well beyond a basic granola bowl, this is the stop. The menu leans heavily vegan and vegetarian options, and gluten-free options are available throughout, though it is not a dedicated gluten-free facility.

Outdoor Seating

The Sanibel Sprout has outdoor seating available at the Islander Center. A good option on a comfortable Florida morning. The setting is relaxed and casual.

This is a great place to relax with a smoothie after spending the early morning shelling on Sanibel. The covered outdoor seating is a nice break from the Florida Gulf Coast sun.

Indoor seating

The indoor seating is really comfortable and great for enjoying the air conditioning while taking a break from the Florida sunshine.

Sanibel Sprout Menu

The storefront is open Monday through Saturday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and is closed Sunday. The menu focuses on fresh, healthy food with strong vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options throughout. Breakfast is served all day.

Breakfast - Served All Day

Breakfast Bowl - Your choice of acai, coconut, or pitaya base topped with granola, bananas, strawberries, and shredded coconut.

Yogurt Bowl - Greek yogurt topped with fresh bananas, strawberries, and pumpkin granola. Can be sweetened with honey or maple syrup.

Avocado Toast -With lemon juice, salt and pepper, hemp hearts, and coconut bacon.

Berry Toast - Topped with almond butter, strawberries, bananas, chia seeds, cinnamon, and honey drizzle.

Main Course

Coconut Bacon BLT - House-made coconut bacon, vegan mayo, tomato, and arugula on multigrain bread.

Veggie Burger - Made in-house with black beans, brown rice, caramelized yellow onions, and roasted beets. Topped with arugula, tomato, avocado, sprouts, and vegan mayo.

Un-Tuna Sandwich - A plant-based take on a classic tuna sandwich.

Happy Belly Salad - Arugula, red pepper, red onion, green apple, purple cabbage, carrots, raw almonds, and raspberry vinaigrette.

Mexican Salad - Arugula, red pepper, diced tomatoes, walnut taco meat, avocado, blue corn tortilla chips, and cashew queso dressing.

Plus Size Seating - The chairs are padded inside but a few of them are pretty low. The outside chairs do wrap around a bit so it is going to depend on the person how comfortable they are.

Pets -I believe dogs are allowed on the outdoor patio.

Parking  - There is parking available next to the coffee shop.
