We kept hearing about how the best steaks in Orange Beach could be found at Big Mike's from visitors and locals.
When we moved to Gulf Shores we knew that we needed to plan a date night to check out this restaurant everyone was talking about.
One thing we quickly realized is Big Mike's is popular! So popular that people will line up before the restaurant opens especially during the busy season.
This is a restaurant you will want to plan time to visit. There most likely will be a wait to get a table especially if you are here during the summer or over scheduled school breaks.
You can smell the wood fire grill going with steaks as soon as you pull into the parking lot.
Make sure to go hungry and be prepared for big servings. We left with leftovers that were great for lunch the next day.
Indoor Seating
The indoor seating is not as big as you would expect when you look at the restaurant from outside.
The tables and chairs are comfortable with a fair amount of space between the tables.

Indoor Bar
The indoor bar is located in the heart of the restaurant right when you walk in. You can enjoy a comfortable bar seat and watch a game on the TV or relax with a great meal.

Big Mike's Steakhouse serves wood-fire grilled steaks that are seasoned and cooked to your desired specification.

Appetizers - O.B.A. Shrimp, Fried mushrooms, crab cakes, crab claws, Wickles fried pickles, Mozzarella Cheese Wedges, Smoked tuna dip, steak queso, spinach and artichoke dip, hot shrimp & crab dip, and Onion Straws
Soups & Salads - O.B.A. Shrimp Salad, Chicken Cobb Salad, Build your own salad, Mike's House Salad, Made from scratch seafood gumbo and seafood bisque
Sandwiches - Chop House burger, chicken sandwich
Steaks - Served with Bavarian bread, cinnamon butter and a choice of 2 sides.
Certified Angus Beef that has been aged for 28 days and then hand cut. Each steak is marinated in Big Mike's Seven Spice Blend before being wood fired to your desired temperature, then thopped with garlic herb butter.

Entrees - Teriyaki Chicken, Gulf Shrimp, Sweet Water Stack (Fresh crab cake over fried green tomatoes with housemade remoulade sauce, topped with shrimp), Ahi Tuna Jonathan, Rooster Cowboy grilled chicken, Prime Pork ribeyes, and Chef's featured fish.
Signature Sides - French fries, baked potato, mixed green side salad, loaded baked potato, Caesar salad, Steamed asparagus, steamed broccoli, Cajun blackened rice, Baked sweet potato, Twice baked potato casserole
Desserts - Bread pudding, Homemade cake, Cotton Blues cheesecake
Kids Menu - Cheeseburger, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, Kids kabobs - All served with French fries.
Gluten-Free - There is not a specific Gluten-free menu. They have salads and grilled shrimp.
I would check to see if the signature seasoning for the steaks is gluten-free.
