Bamahenge
Located near Barber Marina is the Alabama version of Stonehenge in England. Located a short walk from the parking area is a fun family-friendly roadside attraction.
Built with fiberglass, they almost called it fiberhenge or even foamhenge but finally landed on Bamahenge.
Bamahenge was built by Virginia artist Mark Cline at his Enchanted Castle Studios for Alabama billionaire George Barber. Mr. Barber originally wanted the sculpture to be placed at the Vintage Motorsports Museum outside of Birmingham.
Over time it was decided to place the replica of Stonehenge sculpture near Barber Marina in Elberta, Alabama.
Today you can enjoy the 21 foot tall sculpture that stretches 104 feet across.
When you visit, make sure to put on insect spray. We found that there were quite a few bugs during our visit.
There is a short dirt walkway leading to the field where Bamahenge was placed.
There is a sign near the replica that talks about how Bamahenge compares to the original Stonehenge.
While this is not a complete full-size replica, it does have the same astrological alignment as the original.
On the morning of summer solstice, the first day of summer, if you stand within the stone circle looked to the east through the entrance you would see the sun rise.

Lady in the Lake Alabama - Floating in the marina is an amazing Lady in the Lake sculpture. This 50-foot fiberglass woman is not what you expect to see floating in the water. Also called country girl skinny dipping don't worry you can only see a woman's head and knees out of the water.
Knights in the Woods - There are knights in the woods near Barber Marina. When we went to find them they were pretty obscured by tree growth.
Dinosaurs in the Woods - T-rex, brontosaurus, stegosaurus, and triceratops can be found in the woods near Barber Marina. Keep an eye out for dinos at the edge of the woods as you drive the main road. The fiberglass dinosaurs are large fiberglass pieces!

Neptune's Fountain - This gorgeous authentic Italian Renaissance fountain can be seen in the middle of the traffic circle as you drive towards the marina.
