June is an amazing time to be in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama. The weather is warming up, the water is getting warmer, and the beach is calling.
There are great concerts and events during the month at The Wharf Amphitheater, local festivals, and so many things to do.
Check out some of the best local attractions, white sand beaches, Gulf State Park Pier, and things to do in June on our beach vacation.

Tyler Childers in Concert

National Trails Day Hike

Location - Gulf Oak Ridge Trail, Gulf State Park
Join the park naturalist for a two-mile stroll through the amazing maritime forest and wetlands along the Gulf Oak Ridge Trail.
Splash Bash - Summer Reading Kickoff Party 2025

Enjoy waterslides, a toddler bounce house, splash pads, crafts, snow cones, and more! Sign up for summer reading to win prizes and get a goodie bag. All ages are welcome.
Slice of Summer Event at The Wharf

Every Monday night during the summer season you can celebrate a Slice of Summer at The Wharf. There will be magicians, stilt walkers, and balloon artists. Plus, opportunities to ride a camel, get your face painted, and play in the glow bubbles from the official Bubble Truck.
Wild Wild Wharf

Location - The Wharf
Enjoy a wild western night with DJ Matt. Check out the mechanical bull, face painting, and so much fun! Dress in your best Western Wear Costume and possibly win a prize.
Cost: FREE admission + parking; Some activities range $5-10
Pepsi Treasure Hunt for Hunger
Date - To be announced
Location - The Wharf
Pepsi Treasure Hunt for Hunger benefitting Secret Meals for Hungry Children every Wednesday throughout the summer.
Grab a treasure map at the Pepsi tent and then start your quest. Find the items on the map then return to X marks the spot and collect your gold.
For each kid that completes the hunt, The Wharf will donate $5 to Alabama Credit Union’s Secret Meals for Hungry Children program.
Hurricane Preparedness Expo
Date - TBD
Location - Erie Meyer Civic Center
The Hurricane Preparedness Expo is hosted by the City of Gulf Shores. This free event is an opportunity to learn more about hurricane preparedness and the services available before, during, and after a storm.
If you are a resident of Gulf Shores and do not have an up-to-date (2025-2026) Hurricane decal, this is a great time to obtain one.
If you plan on acquiring a Hurricane Decal at the event, you will need to bring a proof of residency or property ownership, in the form of a deed, lease, or utility bill that bears the street address of the property for which the decal is being purchased, along with a Driver’s License for identification purposes. Residents may purchase up to three decals for $5 each.
Wiki Wiki Wharf

Cool off with the water slide and water bouncy. Check out the surfboard simulator or have your face painting during this fun event.
Tacky Jacks Summer of Fun Events
This summer Tacky Jacks is celebrating with fun hands on habitat events, art classes, beach games, and more at their Gulf Shores and Orange Beach locations!
Events are held at 11 am on specific days. RSVP is required to attend.
The Art al Fresco classes have a fee for supplies and include a $10 lunch gift card. Beach Games at the Gulf Shores Tacky Jacks are themed for kids ages 6 to 12. The games include a free participant lunch.
Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo

Location - Flora-Bama Ole River Grill beach area
This fishing rodeo is a 3-day Captain's Choice Tournament. Anglers compete in 30 categories including red snapper.
The tournament has an epic beach party and award ceremony with daily weigh-ins. There is live music, vendor booths, epic food, and all the fun.
Gulf Coast Zoo Summer Camp

This year’s camp offers new and exciting adventures for students who have completed Kindergarten – 5th grades.
Campers will learn through hands-on experiences how to be a zookeeper, what it takes to run a zoo, how to care for animals, from preparing diets to designing exhibits, and learn to be great conservationists. Registration remains open until camp is full, register at www.alabamagulfcoastzoo.org
Forage to Fork Dinner - Gulf Coast Zoo

Ages - 21+
Tickets ($100 each) are on sale now for a delightful culinary adventure that bridges the gap between nature and your plate. Guests will forage the woods on the zoo property guided by expert foragers Chef Tanner Hammond, the Mushroom Man, and Natasha Freeman from Bee-Lightful Botanicals teaching the uses of edible plants, herbs, and hidden treasures.
The evening will conclude with a full meal prepared by Chef Tanner using and inspired by the days foraging harvest. Tickets can be purchased at www.alabamagulfcoastzoo.org. Proceeds benefit the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.
LuLu's Hot Trot 5K and Fun Run

Location - LuLu's Gulf Shores
LuLu's Gulf Shores is hosting a 5k run/walk or a mile fun run on flat ground. After the race there will be a fun party at LuLu's.
Funds raised from the event with benefit ARC-Baldwin County. This event is hosted by the Robertsdale Rotary.
Tacos & Tequila Festival
Dates - To be announced
Location - Baldwin County Fairground
Enjoy tacos including a taco eating contest, beer stein holding contest, toss the tacos, and so much more.

Blue Angels Practice
Dates - To be announced
Location - Pensacola Naval Air Station
Gates open at 9:30 am
The Blue Angels are scheduled to take off at 10:30 am
The dates with a * includes an autograph day in the museum following the Blue Angels Practice.
Practices last approximately 55 minutes. There are open bleacher seats for 500 people. You can also rent a chair for $6 (there are limited quantities of chairs).
Please note that backpacks, daypacks, luggage, or similar items are NOT allowed on the flight line during Blue Angel practice air shows.
You will need to have your ID to enter onto the Naval Air Station. Public access to NAS Pensacola is available only from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. through the West Gate on Blue Angel Parkway.
Make sure to plan time to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum after practice.
June Things to Do
There are so many fun things to do in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach in June! The weather is amazing and there are plenty of ways to spend the day.
Some of our favorite things to do include taking a sunset cruise, animal encounters at the Gulf Coast Zoo (Lemurs, sloths, and turtles), Alligator Alley, go-karts, arcade games, local water parks, mini golf, The Wharf Ferris Wheel, a Segway tour, rent bikes and explore Gulf State Park, and so much more!
Jet Ski Tours
One of my goals this summer is to get out on a jet ski tour and see the local dolphins. It feels like the perfect way to enjoy time on the water and get to see local wildlife.
Plus, they just look like so much fun.
There are a couple of options for enjoying a Jet Ski in Orange Beach and Orange Beach.
Jet Ski Rentals - You can rent a jet ski by the hour and head out independently to explore the back bays of Orange Beach.
Jet Ski Tours - or you can join a guided jet ski dolphin tour with a qualified and professional jet ski operator.
Dolphin Cruises
Head out on the water and check out the local Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins that play in the back bays and Gulf.

Sunset Dolphin Sail
May is the perfect time to enjoy a sunset dolphin sail on the back bays of Orange Beach. This sailing tour leaves from the Wharf making it really easy to get to.
You can relax with a cold drink while watching dolphins frolicking nearby. As the sun goes down, you can savor the warm weather and epic views from the sailboat.
This is one of our favorite date night activities on the water. It is so relaxing ,and the views are amazing.
Rent a Polaris Slingshot
Drive around town in style with a sleek three wheeled Slingshot! The perfect way to cruise the beach and enjoy the gorgeous weather!
Manual or automatic transmission vehicles are available. Rent for a day or the week.

Some of the pontoon boats have slides so you can slide right into the cool waters of the Gulf. Cruise the scenic Orange Beach islands of Bird Island, Robinson Island, and Rabbit Island.

The weather in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach continues to warm up in June.
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach enjoy early summer weather in June with temperatures ranging from 75 degrees to 89 degrees.
Daylight hours increase in June with the shortest day of the month is June 1, with 13 hours, 59 minutes of daylight and the longest day is June 20, with 14 hours, 6 minutes of daylight.
The earliest sunrise of the month in Gulf Shores is 5:48 AM on June 10, and the latest sunrise is 4 minutes later at 5:52 AM on June 30.
The earliest sunset is 7:48 PM on June 1 and the latest sunset is 8 minutes later at 7:56 PM on June 30.
Water temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico continue to rise by 4 degrees. Going from 80°F to 84°F, over the course of the month.
