Summit Wellness in Orange Beach is a wellness spa that focuses on what you need as an individual to feel your very best.

I love that the team includes ER nurses who have years of experience. During my recent visit to Summit Wellness, I tried their infrared sauna, cold plunge, IV therapy, and compression therapy as part of my fun 50 before 50 on the Gulf Coast adventure.

I told the team that I didn't want to feel 49 getting close to 50. I wanted to feel energized and like I was taking care of my body. They took such great care of me. I had an unbelievable amount of energy after my appointment and the next day. My to-do list was attacked, house projects got done, and I felt so good.

After experiencing the impacts from a visit, I can't wait to return and keep working on the wellness side of living on the Gulf Coast.

Infrared Sauna + Red Light Therapy

Summit Wellness offers a combined infrared sauna and red light therapy session in one dedicated space. Infrared sauna therapy uses infrared heat to penetrate deeper into the body than a traditional sauna, supporting detoxification, muscle recovery, circulation, and stress reduction.

Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support cellular energy production, reduce inflammation, and promote skin health. Combining both in a single session is one of the more efficient recovery protocols available at the facility.

After using the Summit Wellness Infrared Sauna + Red Light Therapy I want to book an appointment all the time. This felt so good.

What to bring: Swimsuit or workout wear. Towels are provided. Drink water before and after your session.

Cold Plunge

Cold plunge therapy involves brief immersion in cold water to trigger the body's natural response to cold exposure. Regular cold plunge sessions are associated with reduced inflammation, improved circulation, faster muscle recovery, increased alertness, and a boost in mood.

Summit Wellness offers contrast therapy by pairing the cold plunge with the infrared sauna for a hot-cold protocol that alternates between the two.

This was my first time doing a full cold plunge, and it honestly felt amazing after the first minute of reminding myself to breathe. The Summit Wellness ladies were unbelievable, walking me through how to have the best cold plunge experience.

What to wear: Swimsuit required for the cold plunge. Towels provided.

IV Therapy

Summit Wellness offers customized IV infusion therapy administered by licensed medical professionals. IV therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, hydration, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream for faster and more complete absorption than oral supplements. The clinic offers a range of IV formulations tailored to individual needs including hydration, immune support, energy, recovery, and more.

During my visit Summit Wellness was able to tailor an IV infusion to fit my requests and what I needed to feel my best. I have to tell you that after my morning at Summit Wellness I felt better than I have in a long time. I was so productive and got things off my to do list that had been sitting for longer than I want to admit.

I had a ton of energy and felt amazing.

Compression Therapy

Compression therapy uses pneumatic compression to improve circulation, reduce swelling, and support recovery in the legs and lower body. Commonly used by athletes, post-surgical patients, and anyone dealing with chronic swelling or circulation issues.

I tried the full leg compression therapy during my IV therapy session, and it felt amazing. I wasn't sure what I would think about it, but it was great. So much so that I looked up the system to see if I should get one for the house.

Hyperbaric Chamber

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing in a higher concentration of oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve more completely into the bloodstream, supporting tissue repair, reduced inflammation, faster recovery, and improved energy. Sessions are conducted in a comfortable chamber where guests can bring a book, phone, or tablet to pass the time.
