Russell Fields Pier in Panama City Beach, Florida, offers epic views of the Gulf of Mexico, fishing, sunset watching, and wildlife viewing.

Russell Fields Pier - Panama City Beach Pier
One of my favorite things to do in Panama City Beach is walk the fishing piers. They are the perfect spot to look for local marine wildlife and birds, enjoy the beautiful Gulf Coast weather, and stretch your legs.
You don't have to be a fishing enthusiast to enjoy walking the pier. The Russell Fields Pier is one of the longest piers on the Gulf of Mexico.
If you are a fan of fishing or like seeing what anglers are pulling in, you will enjoy this walk. I am always amazed at how clear the water is making it easy to see schools of fish.
During my last visit, I watched fishermen walk up and down the pier until they spotted the school of fish they wanted, then dropped their line.
Please make sure you are prepared for the sun! There is no shade as you walk along the PCB City Pier. It can get hot, hot, hot! Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are needed. I would also bring water or grab one at the snack shop at the beginning of the pier.
I think this is one of the best spots for watching sunrise and sunset, seeing the clear blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and stretching your legs with a walk to the end of the pier.
Who knows you may see a shark, dolphin, stingrays, or fun pelicans as you wander along the pier.
