We've been coming back to Marriott's Legends Edge at Bay Point every year since we moved to Gulf Shores, and there's a reason we keep returning. This resort sits on Grand Lagoon in Panama City Beach, offering spacious two-bedroom villas with full kitchens and some of the best sunset views we've seen anywhere.
It is the perfect location for exploring Panama City Beach and the Gulf Coast. It is an easy drive to the center of Panama City Beach, which is the heart of all the tourist attractions, but it is far enough out that you can enjoy the peaceful lagoon views from the balcony.
We always have a memorable stay at the resort. Last year, we saw one of the best sunsets I have seen anywhere in the world from the resort. It was unbelievable, with the sky turning purple and red.
With each villa, you get a full kitchen with everything you need to cook meals, a washer and dryer, separate bedrooms with king beds, and a screened deck overlooking the golf course and lagoon. It's perfect for longer stays or families who want space to spread out.
This is a vacation ownership resort with Marriott Vacation Club (MVC), or you can book it directly here. You may be able to book with timeshare exchange programs, Sheraton vacation club, or Westin vacation club brands.
Two-Bedroom Villa Tour
The two-bedroom villa suites are fantastic for couples or families. We enjoy how spacious the master bedroom suite is, with its private bathroom.
During our last stay, we honestly couldn't decide which room was the master bedroom suite or the guest bedroom. They were both super nice and had the same amenities. The only way I could differentiate between them was that one had a shared bathroom with the kitchen/living room.
The master bedroom suite has a private ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, two sinks, and a toilet area with a door. The toilet room also has a closet with built-in shelves.
There is a king-size bed with a firm mattress and a nice duvet cover. Our room also had a comfortable chair next to the bed.
There is a dresser with drawers and two nightstands with storage space. A second closet has hangers, extra bedding, a wall safe, and a luggage rack.
We really appreciated the USB plug-ins on both sides of the bed for charging our phones at night.
Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom also has a king-size bed with a firm mattress. Next to the bed is a two-person couch, along with a dresser with a flat-screen TV.
The two-person couch is also a hide-a-bed. There is bedding in the small closet.
There is a dresser, two nightstands, and a small closet for storage space.
The guest bathroom is open to the rest of the living space. It has a tub, a single sink, and a toilet.
Full Kitchen
The Marriott Legends Edge's kitchen is gorgeous. Every time we stay there, I wish our home kitchen had the same color cabinets.
The kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator with an ice maker, microwave, stove, toaster, coffee maker, and dishwasher.
The cabinets are filled with basic pots, pans, and kitchen utensils you would need for most meals.
There are 8 sets of dishes (plates, bowls, and glassware). The glassware includes coffee mugs, juice glasses, and wine glasses.
We did not see a blender. If you plan on making a couple of tropical beverages, you may want to bring one.
There are dish tabs under the sink for the dishwasher. If you plan on cooking a lot of meals, you may want to bring extras with you.
The coffee maker has a couple of packets of ground coffee available, along with some small creamers. If you are a coffee snob like my husband, we suggest bringing your favorite coffee with you.
There are two rolls of paper towels and a few dish towels in the kitchen. The kitchen counter has two small stools.
The living room/dining room includes a nice-sized dining table with six chairs. We tend to use it as a work space since there isn't a desk or office space in the condo unit.
The couch comfortably fits at least three people. Two pretty comfortable side chairs and a nice-sized coffee table accompany it.
The couch includes a hide-a-bed, and there are extra linens in the guest room closet, including sheets and blankets.
Screened Outdoor Deck
One of our favorite things about the outdoor deck is that it is screened in. You don't have to worry about Florida bugs joining your vacation.
The deck includes a small table with four chairs for relaxing with your morning coffee or watching the golf course.
The chairs do have arms. If you are plus-size and don't like arms on the chairs, I would bring a camp chair with you.

When you first arrive at the property, you will need to stop at the guard shack to get an entrance pass. They will give you a paper with a code to get in and out of the property.
Scanning the QR code to get through the security gate is really easy.
