Mardi Gras Park in downtown Mobile, Alabama, celebrates the city's history of hosting the 1st Mardi Gras celebration in the United States back in 1703.

Mardi Gras Park
Our 1st visit to Mardi Gras Park was during a Mobile Mardi Gras Weekend getaway. We were in town to celebrate Mardi Gras and enjoy as many things as we could.
It was really cool being able to see the park while the Mardi Gras parades were driving past it. The Mardi Gras Tree lit up in Mobile's Purple and Gold colors.

While the Mardi Gras season only lasts for a specific amount of time each year the spirit of Mardi Gras and the history of it in Mobile last year round.

Mobile was the host of the first Mardi Gras celebration in the United States thanks to Joe Cain back in 1703.
Today, locals and visitors can see statues of influential Mardi Gras figures and societies in Mardi Gras Park.
You can celebrate the Carnival season and Fat Tuesday year-round by visiting Mardi Gras Park. The park is not huge, but it is fun to see the statues.
