The Battle House Hotel in Mobile, Alabama, is a gorgeous historic hotel right in the heart of downtown Mobile.

The historic Battle House Hotel sits on thes site of where Andrew Jackson had his military headquarters during the War of 1812.

The hotel dates back to 1852 when James Battle and his two brothers opened a four story hotel. The hotel was almost destroyed in 1905. They redid the hotel and it reopened in 1908 with an additional three stories and Georgian-Revival style architecture.

    ✨What's New in Mobile, AL

We can all be thankful that air conditioning was added to the hotel in 1949. The idea of Alabama Gulf Coast summers without air conditioning sounds miserable. Thank goodness for modern conveniences in a historic hotel.

Today, the Battle House Hotel features 238 luxuriously refurbished hotel rooms.

Blue chair with a yellow pillow next to a leathe ottomon and glass top table, king size bed in the background with nightstand and historical lamp

We stayed in a king room on the 7th floor lounge level, which was absolutely gorgeous. From the moment we walked into the room and saw the bed I was ready to curl up and enjoy a great nights sleep.

The room is set up for luxurious comfort. There is a comfy chair with ottoman perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee. Desk with chair if you need to get a bit of work done.

The great couch is comfortable for relaxing on. The highlight of the room is the plush bed, which is hard not to curl up in and spend the entire day relaxing.

Pillowtop King Bed with nightstands on either side with historic looking lamps

I had to stop myself from sitting on the bed before we headed out on our Bienville Bites Food Tour. It was so comfy that I knew I would want to take a nap if I sat there.

The bathroom is luxurious while maintaining a historic feel. The shower has fantastic water pressure and contains Crabtree & Evelyn shampoo and conditioner. Kevin Murphy Young Again soap is also available. I might have used the soap multiple times, hoping it made my 40-something-year-old skin feel 20 again for a few minutes. LOL!

A deep lounging tub is calling my name for another visit to the hotel. It looks perfect for relaxing with a new book.

    Hotel Amenities

Hotel amenities include a rooftop pool, onsite restaurants, a luxurious spa, multiple ballrooms and meeting rooms.

    Outdoor Rooftop Pool

The outdoor rooftop pool is so much bigger than I expected it to be. There is a lane for swimming laps, a pool with walk in entry great for kids, and a hot tub.

Lounge chairs surround the pool deck so you can spend the day relaxing in the Alabama Gulf Coast sun. There is a pool bar open seasonally.

One thing to know is the rooftop bar is in the modern portion of the hotel. If you are staying in the historic section you will need to take make your way to the modern section and take an elevator to the rooftop.

Just a heads up so you bring a swimsuit cover up if you wish too.

    Spa at The Battle House

The Spa at The Battle House is on the Spa Trail which is part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. It looks absolutely amazing.

They have a spa facility pass you can purchase and enjoy access to the whirpool relaxation room, infrared sauna, eucalyptus experience showers, a locker, robe, slippers, and use the rooftop pool.

The spa offers massages, facials, body treatments, nails, makeup, a hair salon, and waxing.

They have an immersive healing experience, soothing Dead Sea mud masque, and signature aromatic warm stone massage that sound heavenly.

Two story fitness room with elipiticals, treatmills, weight machines througout the room

    Exercise Room/Gym

There is a large fitness center near the spa and outdoor pool. It is filled with cardiovascular equipment, ellitpical machines, exercise bikes, free weights, a Peloton bike, stair climbers, treadmills, and weight machines.

Rooftop terrace with tables and chairs, fire pit, and plants with buildings in the background

    Rooftop Terrace

The rooftop terrace at the top of the historic portion of the hotel is amazing. The perfect place to enjoy an epic view of Downtown Mobile and the Mobile River, catch up with friends, or relax wtih a good book.

Hotel lounge with silver platters on a long cabinet, pastries on a cutting board, and coffee mugs

    Club Level Lounge

There is a Marriott Lounge available on the 7th floor for guests with access to club level lounges. During breakfast they had pastries, coffee, drinks, and more available for guests.

    Restaurants at The Battle House

There are three on-site restaurants at The Battle House Hotel.

    Joe Cain Cafe

The Joe Cain Cafe is located off of the lobby and offers a casual environment with comfort on the menu.

They have pizzas, sandwiches, gumbo, jambalaya, and more.

Historic skylight with blue and green art panels above four chandeliers
Eggs Benedict on a white plate with potatos and a container of ketchup

    The Trellis Room

The Trellis Room is absolutely gorgeous! The sunlight in the Trellis Room is not to be missed.

They have breakfast/brunch available along with serving coastal-inspired Italian cuisine in the evening.

The upscale Italian restaurant is the perfect date night out in Mobile. We can't wait to go back for dinner. The menu looks amazing.

We enjoyed a great breakfast at The Trellis Room. They offer a breakfast buffet along with an ala carte menu.

    Royal Street Tavern

The Royal Street Tavern features live piano music, handcrated martinis, cocktails, wine and beer.
