When I first started researching the best things to do in Fairhope, Alabama, I kept seeing a Fairhope Float from Mr. Gene's Beans mentioned.
I knew one of the first things we needed to try was a Fairhope Float. I must say that all the research was right...a Fairhope Float is must try, especially if you love coffee drinks.
Mr. Gene's Beans is a local favorite with Ice Cream, gourmet popcorn, and a great coffee and tea menu.
Perfect for an iced coffee or a cold ice cream treat on a hot day or a hot mocha on one of our cooler days.
The gourmet popcorn makes a fantastic local Gulf Coast of Alabama gift for the holidays!

There is a cute seating area with table and chairs along with a few counter height stools.

The menu includes frozen and iced drinks, fruit fizz, lemonade, hot chocolate, espresso, latte, mocha, cappuccino, and more.
Menu Highlights - Fairhope Float, shakes, malts, gourmet flavored popcorn, frozen yogurt, and more.
Topping options - Butterfinger candy, Caramel, chocolate chips, chocolate syrups, coconut, gummy bears, gummy worms, Heath, Hot Fudge, M&Ms, Mixed Nuts, Oreos, Rainbow Sprinkles, Strawberries, or Waffle Cone pieces.
Popcorn Flavors - Fairhope Pop (caramel and cheddar blend), dill pickle, cheddar, caramel, jalapeno cheddar, and movie theater style butter.
You can buy popcorn by the bag ranging from small, medium, large, and even jumbo size!

Things to know when planning a visit to Mr Gene's Beans

Hours - 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM most days except Sunday when there are shorter hours of 12 pm to 6 pm.
Please confirm with the restaurant to ensure that hours have not changed.
Accessibility - There is a ramp leading up into the ice cream shop. Inside the shop it could get a little tight depending on how many people are inside.
Plus Size Seating - The indoor chairs do not have arms on them.
Dress Code/Suggestions - Casual
Pets - Pets are not allowed inside the sweet shop.
Parking - There is quick pick up parking right next to the ice cream shop. There is also parking along the street available on a first come first serve basis.
You may need to circle the block a few times to find parking or head to the public parking lot north of the Fairhope Community Park.
