The Donut Hole
Have you ever visited a restaurant on vacation and then spent years dreaming about visiting again?
That is how the Donut Hole Bakery Cafe was for us until we moved to the Gulf Coast. My husband visited the restaurant while I was at a retreat in Destin.
He kept messaging me about the amazing donuts he found and how he couldn't stop going back every day while I was working.
This was probably 8 years ago and he kept talking about how amazing the doughnuts were and how he would love to find the restaurant again.
Fast forward to today and now that we live in Gulf Shores, Alabama it is an easy drive to Destin, Florida.
When I asked my husband what he wanted to do for a fun day out exploring he told me it was time to find the doughnut restaurant. At this point, he still wasn't sure what the name of it was but he thought it was doughnut something... lol
Thankfully we live in the world of Google and I was able to locate The Donut Hole and off we went on an adventure.
I am so happy to say that not only do the doughnuts live up to my husband's memories but their breakfast and lunch food is also fantastic.
We have now driven to The Donut Hole multiple times while exploring the Gulf Coast.
Locals and visitors will love this fantastic eatery! Trust me you will want to take at least a dozen donuts home with you.
The Destin Donut Hole is the original location. They have expanded to now have three restaurants.
Indoor Seating
The indoor seating consists of booths, regular tables and chairs, and some counter seating at the Destin location.
The Donut Hole Menu
The menu includes breakfast classics, Doughnuts, amazing key lime pie, red velvet donuts, cakes, pastries, and a full menu for breakfast and lunch.
Some of the fresh made bakery items include chocolate cream pie, coconut cream pie, peanut butter pie, pecan pie, layer cakes, cinnamon raisin bread, and more!
You can stop in and just pick up doughnuts or a slice of cake!
Menu Highlights - fresh baked doughnuts, key lime pies, omelettes, great salads, burgers, fried chicken sandwich, corned beef hash, and eggs benedict plus so much more.
Gulf Coast Crabmeat Benedict - Split English muffin topped with two crabcakes, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce, served with hashbrowns.
The "diet" plate - home baked buttermilk biscuits topped with sausage patties, cheese, and fried eggs, smothers in cream gravy and served with hash browns.
Corned Beef Hash - Homemade corned beef hash topped with two eggs and hollandaise sauce.
Breakfast burger - sirloin burger topped with a fried egg, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Served with hashbrowns.
Kids Menu - There are a ton of options kids will enjoy.
Gluten-Free - omelets, eggs, bacon, grits, potatoes, sausage, ham
Vegan - salads (will need to remove cheese and meat)
Vegetarian - eggs, omelets, Belgian waffle, French toast, pancakes, granola pancakes, sweet potato pancakes.

Accessibility - There is a ramp leading up to the restaurant. There are accessible parking spaces near the front entrance.
Plus Size Seating - The individual tables with chairs are comfortable. We have not tried the bench booth seating yet.
Dress Code/Suggestions - Casual
Pets - Pets are not allowed within the restaurant.
Parking - There is a nice size parking lot in front of the restaurant.
