Fairhope Pier
Affectionately known as the "town square" for Fairhope the Fairhope Municipal Pier has quite a history.
The first Fairhope Pier was built in 1895. This wooden pier served as a commercial dock for the bay boats. A concrete pier was built in 1968. It was damaged by Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and then rebuilt and re-opened in 2006.
The 1448-foot pier includes benches, covered areas, restrooms, and a Blind Tiger Restaurant (opening soon).
In the parking area near the Fairhope Pier, there is a rose garden and fountain, picnic tables, a duck pond, and access to a large sandy beach.
Birdwatchers will love the great birdwatching including pelicans, different gulls, Purple Martins, and shorebirds.
Fishing at the Fairhope Pier
